The ongoing tension between India and Pakistan led to the ban of Pakistani actors in India and the tension between the two countries isn’t going to fizzle out anytime soon it seems. After a prolonged silence on Uri Attacks, both Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan chose their social media accounts to break their silence.
A few days ago, MNS had given an ultimatum to actors and artistes from Pakistan, such as Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, to leave India. A leader of the party had also issued a 48-hour deadline, after which he said MNS would “push them out”.
However, according to the latest DNA report, Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has been dropped off as SRK’s heroine from Raees. After many speculations around the same, an unnamed source, close to the film said,
“It was a very painful decision for producer Ritesh Sidhwani to take. The pressure to replace her had been building up for months. It reached a crescendo after the Uri attacks. It came to a point where it became impossible to shoot with any Pakistani artiste. People suggested all kinds of solutions to the impasse, including shooting in Dubai. But it didn’t seem viable. Now, Mahira has unfortunately been relieved of her duties.”
There has been no official announcement or confirmation from the producers or SRK on the same though.
This was one vague tweet for sure. After MNS threatened to ban the Pakistani artistes, they had also threatened that they would block the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Fawad Khan and Raees starring Mahira Khan.
Just a few days ago before the release of MS Dhoni biopic, there were speculations that Fawad was supposed to play the role of Virat Kohli but he was dropped off. But film’s producer Fox Star denied the news and said Fawad was never a part of the film.
