You would have noticed that the night you eat pizza is often followed by a hard time the next morning. It happens so because some foods are best avoided at night so as to get a sound night of sleep.
Here’s a list of food that can give you indigestion and can keep you wide awake, even if you badly want a shut-eye.
Though we love eating pizza at any given hour, it is best to avoid it for dinner. High in refined carbohydrates, pizza will not go down the digestive system quickly. So good luck for your poo time the next morning!
A glass of wine every night is said to be good for the health, but excessive intake of alcohol won’t give you much shut eye. It will make you feel sleepy, but will also ruin your otherwise normal sleeping pattern

4. Dark Chocolate
People who want to lose weight swear by dark chocolate. However, it does contain caffeine, that can make us stay awake, so it’s best to be eaten as an evening snack, rather than as a dessert at bedtime.
Tabasco sauce can cause acidity, indigestion and heart-burn. It can keep you wide awake if you have used it liberally.
6. Packaged foods
Not only are packaged foods not good for people who want to lose weight, but they’re also unhealthy for dinner as they may cause indigestion. Such foods are high on fats, sugars, sodium and other additives.
Tomatoes can produce acidic pH levels in the body which can result in acidic reflex and indigestion. Therefore, let go off tomato soups and anything which contains tomatoes at night.
Fermented foods like yogurt and cheese contain tyramine, an amino acid which can stimulate the brain and keep you awake. Definitely not a wise option for the night.
9. Dry Fruits
Dry fruits like berries and dates are high on sugar content, but lack water. Too much consumption of dried fruits before bedtime can interfere with our desire to fall asleep and can result in stomach indigestion and increased blood sugar levels.
